You gotta ditch that dame!
— Bob to Mort

Bob is an officer of Basin City Police Department and Hartigan’s partner.

That Yellow Bastard

Bob meets up with Hartigan and tries to convince him not to pursue Roark Junior, but Hartigan, realizing that Bob has been taking bribes off of Junior, punches Bob out, damaging Bob's glasses in the process, and then sets off after Junior himself, leaving his former partner unconsious on the ground.

Bob comes round and tracks Hartigan down. finding him standing over Junior after blowing off Junior's ear, hand and genitals. Bob shoots Hartigan three times in the back, but incredibly, Hartigan doesn't even fall down-he remains standing and tries to shoot Bob, who shoots him another five times in the chest before leaving him for dead. Hartigan survives however, as Bob obviously missed his heart.

A Dame to Kill For

He and Mort are the detectives that start looking for Dwight when Ava Lord blames him for being in her house. Later they search and interrogate people who are related with Dwight. Right after when He and Mort discover Dwight's whereabouts, Mort is encouraged by Ava Lord to go to Old Town and kill Dwight, but Bob insists him not to go there because of the danger. Bob is shot through the head by his partner in the car just when he is about to turn Mort in.

Sin City (films)

In the film he is portrayed by Michael Madsen. In the film, Bob is the one to pick up Hartigan after his eight year imprisonment. It seems he has become a good cop, saying to Hartigan "You've made me hate myself", being guilty over shooting him and giving him in.

After he drops him off, he doesn't appear again. Jeremy Piven portrayed him in the 2014 sequel.
